In the Mirror-part 3

Mr. Chanon led me up to the deck of the huge ship and I gazed over the vast expansion of the deep blue ocean. “It’s so big.” I whispered. “Indeed it is. We’ve been sailing for a long time. I forgot how long.” A voice next to me said in return. I whirled around and saw a girl about 4 inches taller than me, with jet black hair that fell around her shoulders. She looked nothing like me, but the one quality we shared was our forest green eyes.

Hers looked wild and free, like an eagle’s. Mine probably looked scared and lonely, but that was how I was feeling right about then. She looked me up and down, but didn’t frown, like most people. Her eyes glinted with mischief as she asked me,”You’re not one of the pilgrims are you. Are you a stow away? “Of course not! But if I told you where I came from, you probably wouldn’t believe me.” I said. “Just tell me. You’re making me feel much too curious.” Continue reading

I had a Dream…

I wake up to the sound of my alarm clock buzzing and immediately notice the snow. “That’s strange.” I thought. “Why would I sleep in the snow, when I have a perfectly warm… bed?” It turns out that I am already in my bed, but it is snowing. At this point, my mother walks in. “Oh my, you must be sick, my dear. You have six fingers on your left hand. You have to stay home from school today, or Inigo Montoya might try and kill you.” She says. At this point I just accept everything. Physics does not apply in this realm. Reality does not exist, it is simply relative. I look around. The scene is completely different. I see a puppy, a pony, and a bowl of noodles all laid out in a straight line on a green field. The Winter of my Life

I had a dream…
I was in the winter of my life, and the special people I met along the way were my only summer. During the day, I had visions of myself dancing and laughing and crying with them. Three years down the line of being on an endless road, I realized that my memories of them were the only thing that sustained me and my only real happy times.
I was just a girl. Not a very popular one. I once desired becoming more than that, but upon an unfortunate series of events I saw those dreams dash and divide like a million stars in the night sky. That I wished on. Over and over again. Sparkling and broken. But I didn’t really mind because I knew that it takes getting everything you ever wanted and then losing it to know what true freedom is. People I used to know found out what I’d been doing; how I’d been living. But I realized there’s no use in talking to people who have a home. They have no idea what it is like to seek safety in other people; for home to be wherever you lie your head. Continue reading

I HAD A DREAM…

I sat down behind a bush trying to catch my breath. I looked up from behind the bush only to see the destruction. All the seniors from last year were trying to take the students from Glendale and Gloria deo to the cells, on the other side of the woods. A group of us tried to run to the middle of the woods, where a bunch of old people were trying to watch a movie so we could blend in. After a while the seniors came and found some of us. “Andrew, Koty, we need to go now.” So we left. Now it was up to us. Once we got to the cells Koty picked the lock and everyone got out. The seniors were right in front of us and all the kids were behind us. “Andrew…” he slowly walked over to a trash can where a bike was and he grabbed it. “Now!!” He threw the bike at the two seniors who were blocking the way for the kids to run. Once they were out of the way we had to protect them. “Go, go now!” I yelled. Then Andrew, Koty and I used our awesome ninja moves on them. We got out and headed to the meeting place. Everyone was so confused, and scared. They all looked to me for direction. Continue reading

Doors

By: Natalie Slater

I woke up with a start, not knowing where I was. I heard something behind me and jumped out of the low tree I had been sleeping in, and hit the ground running hard. I could hear whatever it was gaining on me. I was tempted to look behind me, but fear won out over curiosity. I looked ahead and saw that the ground disappeared. “Great, just what I need, a cliff.” I thought. I didn’t want to take my chances with the thing behind me, so I closed my eyes, hearing my hair being swiped by a sharp claw, and jumped.

I felt that falling sensation as my feet left the edge. It felt like eons of time before I fell onto a pyramid-like structure. When I had landed, I had landed on my ankle. I looked around. Sudden drops and hills lined the horizon. I slowly climbed down the pyramid, careful not to put too much weight on my sore and swelling ankle. I was startled by a swoop that was too close to my ear, and I started to climb down faster. My ankle felt like it was about to explode with heat and pressure, but I had to ignore it or die. It Was Only A Dream…..

One day i woke up in a meadow. It had tulips every were in all sorts of colors. It was peaceful and just perfect. I heard laughter and music, so i went to find out what it was. I came upon a little village. There were people dancing and singing. Everybody was just happy. But suddenly that happiness was taking away when a dark stormy cloud came out of nowhere. A evil queen came out of that cloud. Everybody was scared. They ran and hid. She took everything from this village. She left nothing. I had to do something about it. So i followed the cloud to a dark castle. There was guards everywhere so i had to find another way in. I saw a window not to high above. So i Started to climb the side of the rocky castle. As i was climbing the side i heard a soft cry. Continue reading

School Horrors

School Horrors

By Victoria Upton

I once had a dream about all the things you never want to happen at school. My dream started out like this. I was walking to school when all of a sudden it started pouring down rain. This was the day I knew was going to be horrible because my teacher had just told us about a quiz the previous day. I wasn’t exactly a student to be “prepared” for these types of things and I was an extreme procrastinator. I worked really well with things due a long time from the time we received the assignment. So, naturally, I had blown it off to hang out with my friends until late the night before. This day was not starting out the way I was planning. Continue reading

Airport Mayhem

The constant buzz of my alarm clock awoke me in my deep sleep.  I slapped around on my nightstand trying to locate and shut off the annoying clock.  Finally, I decided to just get up and start my day.  The delicious smell of bacon permeated the whole house.  I hopped down our front stairs and was greeted by my mother and father sitting at our kitchen table.  “Sweetie, we have an announcement to make.” My mother stated with a warm inviting smile.  “oh no, this cant be good.” I thought in my head.  My Father began to speak” Brooke, we are leaving in 10 minutes for Hawaii!”.  “Say  what?” I blurted out.
