A Wives Tale…kind of

By: Taylor H. (7th grade)

Oh… you want to hear about my son’s death. Well, I’ll try to tell you. Sorry if I get a little emotional, but it’s my son’s death. I mean, why wouldn’t I get emotional. Well, I guess if I didn’t have a heart…but I do. What? You say I’m getting off topic. It’s true. I won’t lie. It’s just that it’s not my favorite thing to talk about. Oh, you mean I don’t have to talk about it. Oh well in that case… No, no, no, I need to talk about it, and I know that you want to know how it all happened. Well, I wasn’t there, but I found out what happened, when Able didn’t come home. Actually, it was a day after the first day that he didn’t come home. I feel bad saying that about Able’s twin sister, as her mother, but it’s the truth.  Trust me.  I would NEVER say that to her face. I would always tell her that she was pretty. Of course, in a mothers eyes, she was pretty.  But in the eyes of someone who wasn’t related to her, yeah, she was ugly. Anyway, back to the story you want me to talk about. Adam told Cain to marry Able’s twin sister. Able was happy about it, but Cain refused to marry Able’s ugly twin sister. He decided to marry his own sister, because she was the hot one. Can you believe it? It all started over the hot versus the ugly sister argument. Continue reading

Naked and infected, I saw it in her eyes.

Right through the dim lights and playful

Christian banter,

I heard her scream.

It’s silence was deafening. Continue reading
